Bad Sector merupakan kondisi dimana harddisk masih berputar dan keadaan controller harddisk masih bekerja namun akan sering terjadinya, error pada tampilan. harddisk terkena Bad Sector disebabkan dua kemungkinan, pertmama secara logic dan kedua secara Physic.
